GEOGRAPHY GLOSSARY.UNIT 3: POPULATION
·         Truly barren areas: Less than 1 person per km2
·         Overpopulated areas: There´s a lot of people livin in a place

Birth rate(B.R): Births in a year divided by the total population x1000
Death rate(D.R): Deaths in a year divided by the total population x1000
Natural increase (N.I):number of births minus the number of deaths
Real Natural Increase(R.N.I): It's the N.I divided by the total population x100
Infant mortality rate: number of deaths of infants under 1 year divided by the number of births in a year x1000
Family planning: When people think carefully about having children because of different reasons
More Economical Developed country(MEDC): rich countries
Less Economical Developed Countries(LEDC): poor countries
Over populated countries: countries that have too many people
Life expectancy: number of years that an individual is expected to live
Birth control: It´s the prevention of conception
Aeging population: This is caused by declining birth rate or rising life expectancy
Dependent population: population that doesn´t work and depends from others for the services
Fertility rate: the number of live births x 1000 women aged 15-49 in one year
