SELF-ASSESMENT

SELF-ASSESMENT What can I do that I couldn't do before? Now I can describe a picture. I can talk about types of crimes and about two important identity thieves. What did I like most? What I liked the most was talking about types of crimes. What did I do well? I improved a lot my translation. What did I do in English outside the class? I go to english classes to improve my english and I also listen to a lot of music in english. What do I need to improve? I need to study more the vocabulary What did I learn about culture? I have learned a bit about David Hampton and Frank Abegnale .

UNIT 5. VOCABULARY

  UNIT 5. A LIFE OF CRIME -Mugger: a person who, assaults someone in order to rob him. -Blackmail: obligating a person to give something that you want by intimidation. - Armed robber : person who takes something by force, they usually have weapons. -Arson: burning   another's   property, pointedly. -Kidnapping: stealing from a person´s pocket or bag. -Forgery: Make fake things, illegaly -Shoplifter: a person who steals from shops without paying. -Smuggling:  to import or export goods illegaly without paying. -Burglar:   person who breaks into houses to steal things. -Speeding:   exceed the speed limit.

                                                      AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE. This is an agricultural landscape, because the land has been transformed over time, by farming activities of human beings in order to grow crops and obtain products from nature. -PLOT: A plot is a piece of land wich is used for growing crops. They can vary in size (large or small), shape (regular or irregular) and are separated by different types of borders ( enclosed or open) -OPEN FIELDS: This landscape is an openfield, because it´s made up of regular plots without boundaries. -POLYCULTURE: This is a polyculture plot, because the land is divided into small plots and farmers grow a variety of crops. -DRYLAND FARMING: This is a dryland farming because there isn´t any irrigation system, this fields only need rain water. -EXTENSIVE AGRICULTURE: This landscape is extensive because is a very big land and it requires the use of machinery.
